I’m Emily.

Hi. I’m Emily Reeves, Director of Account Management & Research at Stone Ward. I’m the personality behind MsAdverthinker.com. I’m a reader and a writer and a people watcher of the curious sort. You should see my magazine stack, my bookmarks list, and my shoe closet.

I believe in SWIM because of the value smart discussion can have in helping us understand the changing world of communications. Let’s be honest: what we talk about today may change tomorrow. I’m O.K. with that. But I also know that we have to know more about where we are today in order to anticipate where we’ll be tomorrow.

There’s a likelihood that during this discussion Blake will suggest that I’m technology obsessed. Fair enough, but I know so much more than he does.

I’m Blake.

As the Director of Public Communications at Stone Ward I work to help our clients and our company understand how to communicate more effectively in the online space.

Like Emily, I’m a blogger. At BlakesThinkTank.com I talk ad nauseam about the role that social media is playing in our everyday lives. I’ve also been known to talk about Twitter from time to time.

I believe in SWIM because of the importance that communications plays in how we interact with each other. Whether it’s on Facebook, LinkedIn, MySpace, Twitter or in the growing world of blogs, people are sharing information; having meaningful discussion; and formulating opinions about a wide variety of subjects. And they’re meeting people that are like them—a cultural phenomenon that will have ramifications well beyond our lifetime.

Emily tells a funny story about my first days at Stone Ward. I’d received an iPod as a gift and it sat on my desk for three months. When she asked me about it I allegedly responded, “I don’t know much about technology.” She’s never let me forget that.

I need a Diet Coke, or three.
